What are Brake Pads all about?
Brake pads are made of semi-metallic, asbestos or ceramic material. There are four pads on your car, one on each wheel. When you step on the brake pedal, the master cylinder sends fluid to the calipers (which hold the brake pads). The caliper presses the brake pad against the brake rotor, causing friction that slows down the car. Over time, brake pads wear out and become thinner and thinner. Once brake pads becomes to thin, it is time to change them for new pads.
